  The National Commission for Women has convened a meeting with senior officials of Delhi Police at the Commission today with a view to strengthen coordination between the Commission and Delhi Police to collectively ensure safety for women in the capital. Senior officers of Delhi Police participated in this meeting.

  Taking cognizance of recent reports in the media regarding gross violation of the rights of women, living in Swadhar Grehs in the country, the National Commission for Women (NCW) initiated inspection of 12 such homes in the country on a pilot basis to ascertain the factual status of these homes. In an attempt to make these inspections more meaningful and with a view to cover all Swadhar Grehs in India, the Commission organized a daylong consultation with academia, NGOs and Government Departments in the premises of the Commission on 13.09.2018.
